A broken internal clock suddenly begins to show the actual time. It’s been stuck at 9 and now it’s racing towards midnight.

We try to deny our age, and our inner clock, until it begins to spit out lava, only to watch helplessly as the fire rolls across it all.

You listen to the man, bringing it all back home, yet on a neverending quest to keep on keeping on. Time is out of mind and the love and theft are left as blood on the tracks.

You are grateful, but at times it is painful — the sense of how much is left to accomplish.

You watched the Nova, dancing and laughing, until 629. Suddenly, the dancing turned into fleeing, the laughter turned into cries of anguish. Too many questions that will never be answered. Too much brutality that can never be understood.

I look in the mirror and I feel betrayed. Time can do that to you. We work and we await the end of the day, then the end of the week, until the end comes around and we begin again. What’s it all for?

A smile captured, a camera out of focus, and then…gone.
